Customize Your Toplist - Frequently Asked Questions

Customizing

All questions related to the customization of your topsite will be listed here.

Q: How much customizing is possible?

A: Almost anything! You choose what to show on your topsite list. Decide how you want your members ranked. Choose what stats are shown or hide them. Customize the look and feel. Make your list reset when you want. Integrate your own website into the navigation. You can even make it appear to be a part of your own site by editing the templates and style sheet!

Q: Can I use CSS to edit the style of my toplist?

A: Yes. In fact, you can fully edit the entire CSS style sheet via your toplist control panel. Edit the font, backgrounds, text color, alignment, virtually anything. To edit the style sheet, go to your owners' admin panel and click the "CSS Style Sheet" link in the "Look and Feel" section.

Q: Can I use HTML to edit my topsite template?

A: Yes. You can create custom header and footer templates to make the topsite even more skinable. The header and footer wrap around the rest of your toplist, so HTML tags left open in the header should be closed in the footer. To create your own custom templates, click the "Custom Templates" link in the "Look and Feel" section of your control panel.

Q: I don't like the way the ads look on my topsite. Can I change it or take them off?

A: You can customize the ads that are shown on your topsite list. In the "Look and Feel" section of your control panel, access the "Ad Blocks" link. There you may choose which type of ads are shown (text and image banners or text ads only) and how many (one large banner at the top of the page or two small banners embeded within the page). So that the ads do not stick out like a sore thumb, you can also choose a color theme which best suits your topsite's style.

You may not remove the ads or attempt to hide them using any HTML or CSS codes; this is in violation of our terms of service.

Q: What am I not allowed to edit?

A: You may not attempt to hide the advertisements or copyright notice on your topsite. Doing so may result in your topsite being disabled or deleted without warning.
